TABLE OF CONTENTS

This year, VividWorks had the pleasure of attending Habitare,  which is one of the main furniture, design, and interior decoration fairs in the Nordic countries and the largest in Finland; it is held annually in Helsinki.

As a design lover or professional, Habitare is an essential event in which concepts become products, and trends emerge through the crafting skills.

Having been a key supplier of 3D visualization services in the furniture niche in Nordics, it was beneficial for us to meet our customers, discover new ideas and trends in interior design, and see how the world of interiors is developing further.

Trendspotting at Habitare 2024

Walking through the exhibition halls, it was clear that sustainability continues to be a major driving force in design. This year, we saw a strong emphasis on recycled materials, modular furniture, and natural textures.

Many exhibitors showcased pieces that were not only beautiful but built with longevity and environmental impact in mind. It’s exciting to see furniture companies embracing circular economy principles, making durable pieces that can adapt to different living spaces and evolve with the user.

Another key trend that stood out was the blending of functionality and aesthetics. As homes are becoming multi-functional, especially with the rise of remote working, the demand for flexible furniture solutions has grown.

Many brands introduced multifunctional furniture, such as sofas that transform into workspaces, foldable tables, and customizable shelving systems. This is an area where VividWorks plays a key role, as our 3D visualization solutions help customers see exactly how these adaptable pieces will fit into their homes.

Lastly, biophilic design—the integration of nature into interiors—was everywhere. From nature-inspired color palettes to plant-filled living spaces, the connection between indoors and outdoors continues to gain momentum. Many booths at Habitare showcased this trend with natural wood finishes, greenery, and light, airy layouts.

Meeting Our Customers

One of the main reasons we attend Habitare each year is to meet with our valued customers. It’s always great to reconnect in person, hear their experiences, and discuss how VividWorks can continue supporting their business goals.

This year, we had insightful conversations with many of our current clients, including furniture designers and retailers who use our 3D visualization solutions to improve the customer shopping experience.

Lundia's stand at Habitare 2024 was impossible to miss, with their stunning, colourful wooden shelves making a bold statement.

These vibrant shelves showcased the brand's signature modular design, blending functionality with a modern pop of colour.

"This year, Habitare was visually impressive and drew in more visitors than previous years. There were plenty of great talks and presentations happening on different stages, providing more to listen to than to see. Right now, the focus is on responsibility, with an emphasis on durability, local production, raw material sources, and material quality. It’s great to see companies taking the initiative to highlight these important themes." - Karri Koskelo, CEO, Lundia

Alongside the shelves, Lundia introduced their newest addition—the Knot mirror, which drew plenty of attention for its elegant, minimalist design.

The combination of these pieces highlighted Lundia's ability to balance timeless craftsmanship with fresh, contemporary touches, making their stand a standout at the fair.

The growing interest in made-to-order products and customization highlights a significant shift in consumer preferences, where flexibility and personalization take center stage.

"This year Habitare went really well. There were a lot of both consumers and partners, including potential new ones. The standout trend was the emphasis on made-to-order products and customization, along with a focus on sustainable, high-quality materials and local production. In terms of interior design, bolder colors and styles from the 70s and 80s were prevalent. It was wonderful to see that so many people were already familiar with our brand, while newcomers were impressed by the customization options and local craftsmanship of our products. I personally used the VividWorks app quite a bit myself during the fair (mainly for the request of quotation). A lot of people asked about the price range and for our customizable product the easiest way is to design a quick sketch with Vivid. Very useful indeed. - Laura Saaranluoma, Development Manager, Mirror Line

At VividWorks, we were thrilled to see how our 3D visualization app played a role during the fair, making the process of requesting quotes more streamlined and interactive.

Finsoffat: Expert Craftsmanship in Finnish Sofas

Founded in 1970, Finsoffat is a family-owned Finnish company specializing in high-quality, handcrafted sofas.

Known for their commitment to durability, comfort, and timeless design, Finsoffat uses carefully selected materials to create sofas that are both stylish and built to last.

With a focus on sustainability and customization, the company offers a range of options to suit different tastes and needs, while maintaining its dedication to traditional Finnish craftsmanship.

"The fair was a great success for us, and we achieved our goals. In terms of sofa trends, ease of maintenance stood out as a key feature—customers are looking for removable, washable covers that make upkeep simple. Versatility is another major plus, with adaptable designs being highly valued. What was especially inspiring, however, was the growing appreciation for domestic products. More than ever, people are recognizing the value of Finnish craftsmanship. Our sales team used the 3D program to showcase sofa configurations that weren’t physically displayed at the fair, and the application worked very well." - Riku Honkanen, Sales, Finsoffat

This year’s event was not only about creativity and beauty of the furniture pieces but also about what is to come in the nearest years: innovations, sustainability, and personalization.

For VividWorks, it was a clear indication of the relevance of further enhancing our 3D tools to assist furniture brands in reaching their consumer markets with innovations in visualization.

Overall, Habitare 2024 has left us energized and motivated for what lies ahead. We are already looking forward to next year’s fair!
